Damion Easley blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Detroit Iron Gloves
defeated the Chainsaw Proctologists by the score of 10 to 4 at the
ballpark.
Chainsaw never recovered after Detroit took the lead in the bottom of the 7th
inning when they scored 3 runs on 1 hit. The critical plate appearance was
by Chris Shelton who electrified the ballpark when he smacked a three-run
homer (his 13th of the season). Detroit ended up with 9 hits for the game
while Chainsaw had 6.
The victory was credited to Kurt Birkins(3-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Livan Hernandez(10-13) absorbed the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 9 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.
Detroit now has a record of 68-74. Still in a bad slump, with this loss,
Chainsaw is 2-8 lately and 65-77 on the year.
